Generation of electricity from biomass in the association of ranchers of Santo Domingo
Keywords:

The present applied research work was developed in the ranchers' association of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas (ASOGAN-SD) Ecuador, where there are 500 members and they have an infrastructure to carry out the commercialization of cattle, which by staying per day in the fair in a number of 10 thousand weekly generate biomass (manure) which is thrown directly by collectors into a ravine in the open air being exposed to the environment generating pollution and bad odors. The methodology used is presented as a Non-Experimental, Prospective-Transversal investigation, because variables are not manipulated during the intervention, the phenomenon is observed as they occur in their natural context, and then analyzed prospectively since it predicts a future scenario. which consists of taking advantage of the biomes of cattle to obtain biogas for electricity generation. The results achieved involve obtaining 16 m3 of biogas which can generate about 96 Kw of electrical energy which can satisfy the installed demand which is about 10 kW of electricity for the lighting system of pens and sectors of influence such as warehouses. restrooms and marketing offices; the total investment for the implementation of the generation system it is established at 30 thousand dollars recoverable for the first 5 years and the duration of the system is 25 years.
